These Terms & Conditions apply when you enquire about or contract Fencing Company Sheffield - Installations and Repairs Contractor for fencing installation, repairs, gates, or related perimeter work. By submitting a quote request or accepting a written quote, you agree to these terms.
About us
We are a fencing contractor operating from 7 St Paul's Pl, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 2LL. Contact: 0114 419 0452 · info@fencingcompanysheffield.co.uk.
Quotes and enquiries
- Quote requests via phone, email or the website form are free unless we state otherwise in writing (for example, a complex commercial survey).
- Written quotes state materials, approximate line length, scope of work, whether old fencing removal is included, and estimated duration where known.
- A quote is an offer valid for the period stated on it, or 30 days if no period is shown.
- Quotes are based on information you provide and any site inspection. If ground conditions, access or boundary measurements differ materially from what was assessed, we may revise the quote before work proceeds.
Accepting work
- Work is booked when you accept a written quote by email, message or signed confirmation.
- Acceptance confirms the specification, price and any conditions stated in the quote.
- We do not start installation or repair until acceptance and any agreed deposit (if required) is received.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate postcode, contact details and a clear description of the fencing work required.
- Confirm property boundaries and obtain any necessary permissions. Planning compliance for fence height — including typical rear garden limits of up to 2 metres and lower front-boundary limits where applicable — is your responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- Ensure reasonable access for materials, tools and waste removal. Narrow side passages on terraced properties must be described at enquiry.
- Keep pets and children away from work areas during installation or repair.
- Notify us of underground services, pipes or cables along the fence line where known.
Payment
- Payment terms are stated on your written quote. We confirm the schedule before work begins.
- Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the stated scope. Deposits for materials may be requested on larger installations.
- Late payment may incur reasonable reminder costs and delay further work.
Cancellations and changes
- Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or postpone scheduled work.
- If you cancel after materials have been ordered specifically for your job, you may be liable for reasonable material and scheduling costs already incurred.
- Changes to specification after acceptance may require a revised quote.
Delays and weather
We aim to meet agreed dates but are not liable for delays caused by severe weather, frozen ground, supplier shortages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Post setting may be postponed where conditions would affect concrete cure quality.
Guarantees and defects
- Timber, composite and metal products are subject to manufacturer and natural limitations. Pressure-treated timber may move or check; we install to trade standards for the system specified.
- Report visible defects in workmanship within 14 days of completion so we can inspect. Fair wear, storm damage after handover, and rot from pre-existing ground conditions are not covered unless stated in your quote.
Liability
We hold appropriate insurance for our trade work. Our liability for loss or damage arising from our negligence is limited to the value of the contract for that job, except where law prevents such limitation (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
We are not responsible for hidden underground obstructions not marked or disclosed, or for damage to plants and structures not protected by you where reasonable access was agreed.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We prefer to resolve concerns directly — contact us first at info@fencingcompanysheffield.co.uk. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction if a dispute cannot be resolved informally.
